Aegon High Yield Global Bond Fund moves to monthly distributions

Aegon Asset Management (Aegon AM) is to change the frequency of the dividend in its income share classes for its Aegon High Yield Global Bond Fund.

The change will see the dividends move to monthly from quarterly at the end of March 2024, providing investors with a more regular income stream.

Co-managed by Tom Hanson and Mark Benbow, the $595m (£471m)* Aegon High Yield Global Bond Fund aims to maximise total return by investing at least two thirds of its net assets in high yield bonds. The Fund blends a top-down, strategic perspective on the asset class with high-conviction credit research, leveraging Aegon AM’s deeply-resourced credit research team and distressed debt specialists.

The move to monthly distributions aligns the Fund with the £660m* UK-domiciled Aegon High Yield Bond Fund, also run by Hanson and Benbow, which distributes income monthly.

Commenting on the change Hanson says: “We recognise the need for investors to receive a regular stream of income, especially in current market conditions. In changing the distribution frequency we seek to address this requirement while continuing to exploit opportunities within the high yield market.”
